GYL Mourns the Loss of Partner Dave Cohen
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our Partner, Dave Cohen, CPA. Dave left us on January 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of passionate dedication to excellence in both his work and his strong relationships with clients and colleagues. His unwavering loyalty to those he interacted with has left an indelible mark on our firm.
As a Partner in our San Diego office, Dave was not only a highly successful Certified Public Accountant and Financial Advisor, but a committed individual who made significant contributions to his community that extended beyond his formidable professional achievements.
Dave exceeded at taking the complex and breaking it down in order to determine the best possible taxation and planning strategies for our clients. He did this in addition to a host of other sophisticated structuring and planning services that served GYL clients so well. His extensive experience across a broad array of accounting services found him acting as a trusted advisor for so many.
We have lost a highly respected friend and colleague who enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles, playing pickle ball and acting as a passionate advocate for animal welfare issues. His family has lost a most loving and supportive husband and father whose legacy is one of lasting endearment, encouragement, and social responsibility.
“A leaf drops to the ground, but it nourishes the soil so more plants
and trees spring up. The same is true in our lives. We nourish the future
through the influence we have on those who follow us.”
